In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the pumpkin puree and vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
