Spider Donuts: A Spooktacular Treat for Halloween!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate frosting
  • Chocolate sprinkles
  • Edible candy eyes
  • Licorice or pipe cleaners for spider legs

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan or use a silicone mold.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the donuts to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  • Once cooled, frost the donuts with chocolate frosting.
  • Decorate with chocolate sprinkles and place edible candy eyes on top.
  • Finally, add licorice or pipe cleaners as spider legs, positioning them to create a spooky effect.
