Cook Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of almond flour
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup of unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon of almond extract
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • Green candy melts or chocolate
  • Whole almonds or slivered almonds for nails
  • Red food coloring optional, for extra creepiness

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the mixture, and beat until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the almond flour, all-purpose flour, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Divide the dough into small pieces and roll them into finger shapes, making them slightly thicker at one end to resemble a knuckle.
  • Press a whole almond or slivered almond onto the top of each “finger” to create a nail.
  • Place the pretzels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Once out of the oven, allow them to cool slightly before dipping the tips in melted green candy melts or chocolate.
  • If desired, drizzle some red food coloring to mimic blood for an extra spooky effect.
